Nannup - Western Australia

Barrabup Sanctuary is 32 Hectares of incredible diverse forestry.

Jarrah, Marri, Blackbud, Banksia and Rivergum abound with frontage at the beautiful Blackwood River.

The opening up of Mowen Rd from Margaret River through to Nannup has given a deserved boost to the beautiful town of Nannup.

People from here travel for years only to settle here again. A fantastic centre of wholesome opportunities. Festivals in the region attest to the popularity amongst every walk of life. We're internationally renowned for. With a Guesthouse on Mowen Road operating successfully for two years [MowenSprings}, as well as a boutique corner in a buorgioning marketplace crying out for product, industrial hemp has made a full blown come-back & so Barrabup Sanctuary has had immense support.

Both campgrounds at Barrabup are available by request for private use.

The Eco friendly huts are very comfortable with all the facilities for a pleasant stay.

How the huts are situated provide the visitor a private atmosphere in the forest at the river.

There are a number of recorded species of native orchid with most flowering in september, but some are being seen all year around.

The property has a particular high occurrence of native Flora and Fauna, possibly due  to her fire history and bird life abounds.

Barrabup Sanctuary is being developed as an open Zoo, park and arboretum, with plans for the complete eradication and exclusion of cats, dogs and foxes with the gradual re-establishment of the original native Flora and Fauna.

Barrabup Sanctuary started life in the seventies when Glenn Orley purchased the property as a family home hideaway; he soon had the idea to share the peace and tranquility with other like -minded people and developed the first camp ground.

With small groups of visitors Glenn has often been seen conducting botanical and fauna walks around the Sanctuary.

In the nineties Barrabup Sanctuary was reborn as a private Eco camp-ground

and has evolved into the friendly and welcoming sight that it is today.

Several major festivals were held here in the last few years.

It's been quite a journey into fantastic realms

& we're glad to have come thus far.

Nowadays Barrabup has introduced further developments of the camp-grounds.

The Sanctuary grounds are run by Glenn Orley and he can be contacted any time and is happy to answer any questions.
